The universe.
1 Humanity is on its way, according to Martinus, towards an entirely new way of understanding the universe. This new understanding consists of the idea that the universe is built out of a manifold of living species within living species. The Milky Way thus is a living being, that is a macro- cosmos for all the living beings of which it is composed, such as the solar system. The solar system with its many planets, is in its turn macro- cosmos for the earth, that again is macro- cosmos for humans, animals and plants. Successively this continues down to organs, cells and atoms from which each is built. |

2 Every living being in the universe is thus at the same time micro being in a macro-cosmic being and a macro being for its micro-cosmic beings. This principle holds for eternity, both upwards in the galactic universe and downwards in the atomic universe. God is a living being, in which all other living beings are micro beings, with the exception that it is not a micro being in another. This relationship in the structure of the universe Martinus calls "The Principle of Life Units". He has recapitulated this in a single symbol where the triangle and the white area symbolize the self and its super consciousness. The area around symbolizes its physical organism. Every single being is thus built up of smaller living beings or units of life. With this principle the macro being will guarantee existence, continuing creation and possibilities for experience to the living beings of which it is composed. An example of this is the earth, consisting of a long list of micro beings, such as humans, plants and animals. They have in turn a long list of micro beings within. With regard to humans and animals there are heart, lungs and kidneys that in them selves are composed of cells and atoms. So the symbol shows that all living beings are living inside other living beings from micro- cosmos to macro- cosmos [22]. |

3 Symbol 6, here, shows the "triune principle" for the living
being. First of all it consists of a self, that creates and experiences,
which is represented by the white part above. The self is the living beings
highest unit that is raised above all forms of manifestation, since it is
the actual cause of its manifestation. Secondly the three-unit principle
consists of the eternal ability of creation, i.e. ability for manifestations
and experiencing, represented by the central part of the figure. Lastly,
it is something created, i.e. every form of manifestation and body of experience,
represented through the lower part by the six bodies of instinct, gravity,
feeling, intelligence, intuition and memory. The violet colour in the central
part expresses the very highest energy of all, i.e. the mother energy [23].
The white cross symbolizes the totally perfect consciousness and the resulting
perfect manifestation, while the orange area within the black circle symbolizes
the physical body of the being. 4 These three main parts, that are also called X1, X2 and X3 are non-separable
and constitute the living being's basic analysis. Since all the I's of the
universe are contained within the I of God, will the divine God be creative
and experiencing through all other I's. Thus, there is nothing outside of
God. 5 The I will create and experience using the eternal ability of creation, and also due to an eternal desire for experiencing, that which Martinus calls the 7th basic energy. The innermost source for all other existing desires in the living being is constituted by the fundamental energy. Through fundamental energy, the mother energy, this desire is connected to the other six basic and universal energies of instinct, gravity, feeling, intelligence, intuition and memory. |

6 These six basic energies are the foundation for six kingdoms or areas of consciousness, which altogether, according to symbol 12, constitutes a spiral circulation. In each kingdom, all six basic energies are present, but the composition of basic energies varies from kingdom to kingdom. In the kingdom of plants, as an example, the energy of instinct is dominating, whereas the energy of gravity and the energy of feeling are emerging. Here, the energy of intelligence is dormant while the energy of intuition and memory are declining. In the kingdom of animals, the energy of gravity culminates, while the energy of feeling and intelligence are increasing. This is where the energy of intuition is dormant, and the energies of memory and instinct are declining. In each kingdom, i.e. in the kingdom of plants, the animal kingdom, the real kingdom of mankind, the kingdom of wisdom, the divine world and the kingdom of bliss, there is always one energy that is culminating, two energies are emerging, two energies are declining and finally one energy that is dormant, i.e. of minimal unfoldment [24]. |

7 Through the main symbol (number 11), Martinus gives an overview of the
structure of the entire universe or composition. This symbol shows all living
beings' structure with an eternal self, an ability to create, and that part
which is created. It shows the entire universe in which all living beings
live their lives. 8 The first basic energy of instinct culminates in the kingdom of plants.
This is where the being is manifested in the form of plants. The manifestation
is an instinctive and automotive function. The consciousness of the self
is limited to an ability of presentiment. The plant's self is rather slowly
being awakened to consciousness about the physical world. It is on its way
from a deep divine state of bliss, in which it has been day conscious in
the life of the spiritual worlds, heading forward to a state, where it successively
becomes day conscious in the life of the physical world. 9 The second basic energy of gravity culminates in the kingdom of animals.
This energy is the source for and activates "the killing principle".
The energy of gravity or explosive energy is the source of everything that
in the conscious life of an animal is anger, aggression, hatred, jealousy
and lust to kill. The life experiences are now developed to full day consciousness,
in the physical world, in so far as the fully developed animal has fully
developed senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste and feeling of touch. It
is at the end of this kingdom, that the human kind at present is situated. 10 The third basic energy of feeling culminates in the real kingdom of
mankind. When the being enters this kingdom, also starts the day conscious
experience of the divine kingdoms. In the real kingdom of mankind all beings
have reached cosmic consciousness or mental sovereignty, meaning that they
in practice have become a genius in separating good from evil. They have
become one with the Father. Here the being's conscious life is entirely
in harmony with the law of life, and all embracing love is an absolute matter
of course. 11.
The fourth basic energy, of intelligence culminates in the kindom
of wisdom. The beings here are the most capable with regards to perfect
creation. Beings of wisdom are planning the organisms for future plant,
animal and human states in their respective worlds. Every act of creation
has its roots at this level of existence. New inventions in thought matter,
are performed here and transferred through inspiration to the physical world.
This is where God's consciousness is performed as a scientific act of creation.
12 The fifth basic energy, the intuition energy, is culminating in the
divine world. This energy is an automatic ability to analyze, and through
this energy the beings are able to feel the eternal principles outside of
time and space. All universal answers are present at this stage, and it
is the home of the entire consciousness of God. The divine world is the
world of ideas. No manifestation can occur without first being an idea.
From there the ideas continue further on to the kingdom of wisdom with regards
to a more concrete form in thought matter. 13 The sixth basic form of energy, memory, is culminating in the kingdom
of bliss. This is where the being's conscious life is entirely withdrawn,
to its own world of contemplation, since the being no longer has any day
consciousness in the external world. After endless experiences together
with other beings, in the previously covered spiral, this being is now entirely
satiated with the company of others, and the need or hunger for being alone,
has appeared. The beings of bliss have none whatsoever connection to other
beings in the external world, and thus it will experience being its own
ruler in its own universe. In the kingdom of bliss, the being is entirely
in blissful contemplation of its previous experiences from the spiral cycle.
14 At the end of the kingdom of bliss, the being becomes fully satisfied
of all these inner experiences, and a hunger to be manifested in the exterior
physical world, i.e. kingdom of plants and animals will occur. At the exit
of the kingdom of bliss, in the transition between the spiritual and the
physical world, the being is manifested in the kingdom of minerals,
which thus becomes the beings first and feeble form of manifestation in
physical matter. The beings consciousness however, is firmly located in
the spiritual world, in the kingdom of bliss. The exterior manifestation
occurs in dense form such as in gold, silver and stone. It is seen in mountain
chains and rugged rock formations. Further on in the development, it appears
as marvellous ice crystals and 'flowers'. of frost 15 At the entrance of the kingdom of plants, the being is entering once again in a new spiral cycle, in which it can renew its manifestation and ability to experience, however on a higher level. The new spiral turn, is thus not a repetition of the previous spiral turn except that the eternal ability to create and experience will now appear with new forms and experiences throughout the six basic energies, based on the harvested experience material in the previous and all other subordinated spiral circles. In this way the beings experience of life will progress from eternity in micro- cosmos to eternity in macro- cosmos.
16 The spiral circuit with its six kingdoms is at the same time a cycle
of experience, in which the beings will experience both the culmination
of darkness and the culmination of light. In the spiritual kingdoms, i.e.
the real kingdom of humans, the kingdom of wisdom, the divine world and
the kingdom of bliss, is the culmination of lightness and evolution of life
within the divine world. These four spiritual kingdoms, Martinus calls "the
primary consciousness of God" [25]. In the physical kingdoms, i.e.
the plant and animal kingdom, darkness culminates in the kingdom of animals.
These two physical kingdoms, Martinus calls "the secondary consciousness
of God" [26]. This also means, that life in an alternating fashion
has a maximal and a minimal development state, thus the evolution never
can be made to stop.
17 This maximum of life experience in the divine world and minimum in the
animal kingdom is an eternally existent principle, which establishes the
structure of life experience. This eternal principle Martinus calls the
principle of contrast" [27].
18 Each and every living being has a fundamental desire from which all hunger
has its origin, i.e. from which all needs of life experience emerges. Hunger
becomes satisfied through a principle that Martinus calls "hunger and
satiation" [28].
19 Since the individual being, thus is able to move from experience to experience in the spiral revolution, this is due to these two principles, that of contrast and hunger/satiation. As a consequence of the principle of contrast, there exist also two contrasting states, i.e. lightness and darkness, without which no experience whatsoever would be possible.
20 Due to the hunger and satiation principle in which lust for darkness is being fulfilled by satisfaction of darkness, and succeeded by lust for lightness in its continuation, the being will through his own alternating desires experience all the different states of life, that there is between the two extreme culminations of lightness and darkness. In the spiral revolution, the six kingdoms represent all of these states of experience. This is how it can be explained in a superior cosmic setting. It is however essential to note, that everything which the individual being hungers and is longing for is light, even if he is longing and hungers for the experience of the pain of the physical world. When the being has experienced the superior states of lightness sufficiently, he starts longing again for its contrast.

21 At the state of development, in which the being onto boredom, has noted the consequences of its previous desires for darkness or the manifestation to kill, there again emerges the desire for a higher state, filled with light, peace and toleration. These wishes for a higher world will be fulfilled in synchrony with the experiences of suffering and thereby the being learns the course of evolution and gets to know the cosmic law of neighbourly love. In doing so, is reached "The great birth" or cosmic consciousness. In this the being becomes able to enter into the light part of the spiral revolution or the spiritual kingdoms. The immediate goal of the present earthly humans is thus the entrance to the "real kingdom of humans" which at the same time is the exit of "the animal kingdom". |
