According to Martinus´ world picture, all living beings have both a sexual masculine and a feminine pole. Those beings that are considered as single poled, are animals, and the course of development is from this single poledness across the cultural mans' stage, and from a moral standpoint, up to the genious sexually double poled Christ beings. The double pole beings have both sexual poles in balance, i.e. that this being appears as true human.

2

According to Martinus all beings will experience single poledness, through their journey across the spiral revolution, as well as double poledness during this passage. The sexually two poled state is a reality throughout the four spiritual kingdoms and up to the end of the plant kingdom. This is where the opposite pole will stagnate. This stagnation of the feminine or the masculine pole, will continue to the middle of the kingdom of animals, where the respective pole is in its least extension, and where single poledness is the result of million of years of development in the physical world. The culminating singlepoled animal thus in the kingdom of animals, has taken part in a passage, from being a two poled being, to become a being in the animal kingdom, where one of the poles is in its least extension.

A sexually singlepoled being still has both poles within, i.e. the masculine and the feminine, but in such a way that the primary pole is at maximum or in its largest extension, while the other secondary pole is dormant or in its least extension. With such a constellation of poles, the being appears as either masculine or feminine. It is this arrangement with masculinity and femininity that determines the entire psychological structure of the animal, its impulses and behaviour.

Through the completion of this change in its pole constellation, the being becomes single poled or half sexed, or what is called an animal in its most pure state. It becomes either a masculine or a feminine animal. Thus this being has a primary culminating pole as well as a secondary or latent pole. The male animal thus has his primary masculine pole at its greatest extensions while the secondary feminine pole is latent.

5

Here, in the kingdom of animals, the being is purely singlepoled or "half sexed" and this "half sexed" beings' major area of interest is to copulate or become united with the opposite "half sexed being". This overwhelming longing in the form of sexual instinct is basic to the over all behaviour of the entire being, such as the dominance of the male and the territorial fight to access of females as well as the female nursing of her own children. The 'true animal' has, in comparison to a human, almost no intelligence at all, and to a major extent it will guided by its instinct of self preservation and to fight and kill both for food and for possession of the opposite sex. Here is merely "the killing principle". In the single poled structure of the being, we see a deeper cause to all that is known as "egoism" and this saying that "everyone is closest to himself". He lives according to the principle "it is better to take than to give" [45]. It is obvious that such a state of being only will imply or can result in a culminating darkness. This state of being however, is necessary in a longer run, to develop the emotional aspects through suffering and the intelligence aspect through the fight for survival in the animal and the emerging human.

According to the cosmic analyses, hunger and satisfaction is principle that occurs for all living beings in the entire spiral cycles. When one being is satiated with a state of experiences, it will start to request a new way for experiencing life, and these wishes or this hunger will sooner or later be fulfilled. Hunger and satisfaction are thus determining this beings' development in the spiral cycles, and then they are also crucial so that it will receive new experiences. Thus, for the culminating animal being, will necessarily be satiated by the one poled state, and successively the secondary pole will start to grow from its latency state. The animal in itself is of course not aware of this development, and it will proceed quite slowly, across the animal state and rather primitive earthly human states. From the start of the pole state development on to the state reached by the present earthly human i.e. in the end of the animal kingdom, thousands of incarnations have been passed.

Marriage is a natural phenomena in a specific part of the development. It is a state where the man who has a primary male pole, substitutes or compensates for his own missing secondary pole by the female's feminine pole. For the female the reverse will be true. In this way they may live a harmonious life where the poles are in balance in relation to each other. They are living in a state which Martinus calls "the zone of happy marriages" [46].

The pole transformation with the present day human is already quite advanced. For the female, the masculine pole is under development, and for the man, the feminine pole emerges. The development of the opposite or secondary pole to both will imply that it is no longer absolutely necessary to possess the opposite sex in a matrimonial relationship. It implies, that both parties become more independent. And so, this being slides slowly out of "the zone of happy marriages".

9

This now implies, that more and more marriages and partner relationships will be split, and the individual will get many partners during the course of a life. This period of development, Martinus calls "the zone of unhappy marriages" [47]. The unhappiness is particularly pronounced there, where there is too large a difference there is on how advanced the two partner's secondary pole, so that they are not in balance. Here is however one of the two parties often somewhat more single poled than the other, which means that the more single poled persons' need for possession of his/her mate is more pronounced. These problems are furthermore aggravated, if the human moral is not sufficiently developed. The continuation of marriage or its survival, is thus very much dependent on the amount by which the two parties will have the heart to hurt each other. In the term, according to Martinus, it is not meant that the human being will remain to live in matrimonial forms. When they have experienced this tight form of living for sufficiently many incarnations, they will be fully satiated with this area of existence and thus may no longer be inspired by a heterosexual partnership.

10

"The zone of unhappy marriages", where the marriages not necessarily are life long due, as a transitional zone between the last part of the animal kingdom, where the present earthly human is now, and the true kingdom of humans. All people without exception will pass through this zone in which the many thousand year old martial talent of marriage slowly will degenerate. However this talent has had such a big impact that the marriage is experienced as a happy state far into the cultural human ages. As an illustration of this entire process, full of sufferings, Martinus writes that the present earthly human is like "a wounded refugee between two kingdoms" [48].

The road toward the real human kingdom leads out of a family oriented state and into a creationally oriented state. Since the single poled animal was quite unintellectual and egoistic, this change of pole structure implies a growing intellect and humanization of this being whom, to a higher extent will be living according to the principle "rather to give than to take" [49]. The interest sphere of the human is expanded from close relatives to also encompass foreign strangers, that are even not in his vicinity. The humanization or the growing ability for neighbourly love is shown among other things with hospitals and caretaking sector for weakly equipped people and in the improvements of standards and social state.

According to Martinus, the individual will keep the same sex through all succeeding incarnations until the double poledness or cosmic awareness, and will not shift sex from one incarnation to the next. At the bottom of the figure shown (symbol 35), is a staircase figure symbolizing the kingdoms of the spiral cycles. Above the orange step that symbolizes the kingdom of animals, we see a circular figure that contains a yellow and a green area and each one is marked by a triangle. This means that it is a living entity. By yellow is meant a female being, and the green one is a male being. The crosses means that they each one is in love with each other and are engaged in a act of copulation. By the yellow field in the male area is meant the feminine pole of the being, while the green field in the female area is its masculine pole. The orange coloured gloria around the two beings means that they are in the animal kingdom. Above this copulation figure we see the respective male beings' and the female beings' capacity of evolution through all kingdoms. On the top there is the male being with its green colour symbolizing the masculine principle and the yellow colour in its least evolved state symbolizes the female principle. Under the male being we see the female being with its dominating yellow colour correspondingly. Martinus thus makes us aware, that it is impossible to shift the feminine or a woman pole constellation from that to have a dominant feminine pole in one incarnation, to have a pole constellation in which the male pole is dominant in the next. Reversibly the same applies to the human being or a man, that of course not in a natural way can become a woman. There will not occur any sudden changes in pole constellation. The secondary pole, both for the man and for the woman, will evolve slowly and step by step from one incarnation to the next. The more the secondary pole of the human will grow to become in balance with the primary pole, the more the human being will leave the state of marriage. The growing amount of neighbourly love implies that the human being gets an ability to feel sympathy for all humans and not only humans of the opposite sex.

Due to the double poledness of the being the "the great birth" or cosmic consciousness will occur. This once again will enter the being into the spiritual kingdoms, the real human kingdom. The first part of the real human kingdom is still a physical kingdom. It will be "heaven on earth" [50]. The being will keep its double poledness or state of "whole sex" on forward through all spiritual kingdoms, i.e. the real human kingdom, the kingdom of wisdom, the divine world, the kingdom of bliss and on to the end of kingdom of plants. Already at the end of the kingdom of bliss, the being however becomes satiated with solely to experience life in its inner world and it starts to long for life in the physical world, i.e. the kingdoms of minerals, plants and animals in a new spiral turn. In order to experience both a culminating single poledness of the feminine and the masculine, it must complete two spiral cycles. In the symbol we thus see how the male being in one animal kingdom must live his chain of physical incarnations as a man, whereas the same being in its next animal kingdom must live as a female being. We see also how the female being in one animal kingdom slowly is transformed into being a male being in the next animal kingdom. In this way the life experience of the being will proceed eternally.

That state of consciousness, expressed by Christ, not only at the cross but also in his daily life, thus is a state in which the masculine and the feminine poles are in balance. This double poledness or cosmic consciousness is the immediate goal of all humans. All will, like Christ become all loving, since the unselfishness, according to Martinus , finally will conquer selfishness on this earth. All humans thus will experience a state of consciousness, in which they can love all others. As a warming sun, they will be capable to give power, strength and life to all living, that they will touch. They will be master in associating with or giving love to all other living beings! And not only to humans and animals. This also applies to micro- cosmos and in their relationship and understanding of macro - cosmos. A cosmic state of consciousness, in which the individual three folded initiated, where one has understood the importance to give love to all three: the micro-, meso- and macro-cosmos. With such an attitude one has finally understood ones own location and role in the entire world. One has become fully conscious to protect and care for all living, no matter where one will meet ones neighbour, whether it is in ones inner or in the form of humans, animals, nature or plants.
